ANTARCTIC project

Main scientific objectives:

Characterization of particle population in very stable and stratified PBL present over the Antarctic plateau by chemical and physical measurements.

Investigation of atmosphere/snow mass exchanges by simultaneous snow and aerosol measurements and analysis.

FAI Instruments involvement:

The company placed at partners disposal the following instruments specifically adapted to operate with air ambient temperature up to – 80 °C and 630 kPa atmospheric pressure.

 

  • HYDRA Dual Sampler equipped with PM1 and PM2.5 sampling inlets.
  • Multichannel OPC Monitor for the characterization in real time and in continuous of the suspended particulate matter ( > 0.3 µm ) granulometric distribution.
